The Travian Romans Are Attacking! Part XVI

Roman LegionnairePrior to signing off yesterday, I upgraded the Academy and the troops’ Armors and Weapons, respectively, and sent out all my troops to my third incursion to a Gallic Village but prayed that nobody will try to attack my Village while my troops were out raiding. Maybe the latter fact is partly caused by the Rally Point limitation? Yet, the server is only nearly three weeks old thus some players were maybe still busy with the end game in other servers—international or local.

COM10 Attack Logs: 20 - 30 November 2009

The figure shows the graphical Attack Logs of my Village from 20 to 30 November. The panel above shows the relationship of Loot Efficiency versus the number of Attacking Troops from my Village and those defending the attacked Village. The panel below shows the stack of loot per resource type taken from the Defenders’s Village.

My solitary raid for the day, I tried my third incursion to a Gallic Village, with a rather erotic name. The Village was located within my 7×7 and it had been battered by my Alliance comrades. At least, the Village had not created trappers yet, thus my troops came home with loot: 5 Wood (wood), 6 Clay (clay), 5 Iron (iron) and NO Crop (crop)!

During my previous two raids on this Gallic Village, it was somewhat frustrating because my troops gained nothing, nada, ziltch! What could be gained in raiding a Village when the act is not rewarded even with a single resource. I should have raided another, I thought. But as Tolstoy once wrote: Good things come to those who wait.

Today, my persistence paid off, even though much too small in quantity but it shortened the waiting time for the availability of such resource. Hopefully someday this Gallic farm will be more productive; and I could harvest them with more troops. Moreover, I have decided not to overdo the frequency of the raids because it might trigger deletion of the player’s account and I would then be looking for another farm somewhere in this vast Travian World.

With this day signaling the end of November, this post would be the last of this series then temporarily shelved. The COM10 server being a novelty is seemingly a movie played in slow motion. The last time I look at the Server statistics, only a few villages have had finally created their second villages. In my own Alliance, even the top ten out of 31 members have yet to create one. With our aggressiveness, moreover, our Alliance is inching up to the top 50. When I was invited to be a member of this Alliance it ranked among the top 100, but with more aggressive members aiming to destroy everything in our path, we each made the Alliance stronger.

Incidentally, the Alliance Forum have also been busy with response posts from my comrades. Every little suggestion for improvement of the Forum, as well as for the Alliance as a whole, the Founder—Rahul Singh—was always all-ears. Alliance leaders often discussed the merits of the suggestions and once decision is made these were immediately relayed to all members.

I really liked the cooperative gestures of my Alliance comrades, much unlike what I have seen in the Philippine servers. Although each member were playing their own game, most have grasped the idea that teamwork is key to the success of the Alliance. If the Alliance is a success, it follows that the members will also be successful. With the able leadership of Rahul Singh, the Alliance Founder, and of course, the dedication of the other Alliance leaders, I envision an Alliance still standing tall when the Natars arrive months in the future.

For this Alliance, teamwork, cooperation and dedication are not just words to rally members; these are becoming a mantra.

    • Thanks. Unfortunately, this village was attacked by a formidable member of the top-ranked Alliance. Although the attacker got nothing, he however catapulted most of the strategic buildings. I am still rebuilding until this time that I have been posting for this blog infrequently!
